The Dark Cloud

During the first lockdown in March 2020, none of us expected to be wearing the mask two years later — the mask that both protected us and yet was suffocating. A dark cloud looming over us all, the larger than life mask represents death, sickness, and weight that we have all felt collectively.

In stark contrast to the black fabric that pulls us down, are the specks of white — coming together to create a form that not only represents the gradual spread of the virus, but parallelly balances the black, gesturing towards the hope of peace and calm.
