Push and Pull

A series of diptychs, the work Push and Pull becomes a way for me to express the constant tug that I feel between my art practice and my role in the home and family. While each half of the diptych is complete in its own way, the combining of the halves results in a ‘whole’ picture — one that is impossible to comprehend when either half is seen alone. This coming together reflects how I feel, and becomes a key metaphor for my larger practice and preoccupations.
