Household Objects
2017
As a homemaker and artist, my home and kitchen become my studio and laboratories for exploration. In the Household Objects series I have repurposed old utensils and appliances by giving them a fresh coat of paint. This gave them a renewed life, while questioning what they were and what they now can be.
The pattern envelopes these objects, at once transforming each into a voluminous and sculpturesque form on display, while still sparking the onlookers’ associations with their own memories of the roles these objects play in their lives, and memorialising the function they once performed.
